In light of the current situation in parts of the Middle East and its potential impact on our examinations in the region, we have worked with schools, ministries and other partners to determine the most appropriate course of action.
Our established contingency measure for cancellation of exams is the portfolio of evidence route. This approach enables students to receive valid and reliable grades in the event that examinations cannot proceed as planned.
We have confirmed that qualifications in the following countries will be awarded using this approach:
- Bahrain
- Kuwait
- Qatar
- United Arab Emirates.
*Correct as of 16 April 2026. This page will be updated if necessary, due to the ongoing situation in the region.
This applies to Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level and Cambridge International AS & A Level.
Our portfolio of evidence route ensures fairness and consistency in the awarding of grades. It provides a robust and reliable alternative to traditional examinations by assessing students across a range of validated work. We ask universities to recognise these grades as equivalent to those achieved through external examinations, as they reflect the same standards, rigour and level of attainment.
