It's a good idea for students to familiarise themselves with different styles of exam questions and the command words we use in our exams, as this will give them a good understanding of the knowledge and skills they need to develop during the course.
With guidance from their teachers, students can use our past papers, Learner Guides, Example Candidate Responses and Specimen Paper Answers booklets to help prepare for Cambridge exams.
We also work closely with textbook publishers to make sure our programmes are well-supported.
We provide Learner Guides for some of our most popular subjects to support students through the course. They focus on course content, exam questions, study skills and revision techniques, and planning. The guides include interactive elements where learners can practise answering questions and keep track of their progress.
Teachers can share the guides with students to help them plan their revision programme and better understand what to expect in the exam.
Example Candidate Responses booklets show real examples of candidate answers, alongside examiner comments. Teachers can use these booklets to help students understand why marks were awarded and learn from common mistakes.
We regularly review and redevelop our syllabuses to make sure the content and assessment is up to date. Before the first live examination of a redeveloped syllabus, we provide specimen materials to schools to help them understand the overall assessment approach. These materials include Specimen Paper Answers which are written in the style of a Cambridge candidate and include the marks that would be awarded and examiner comments. Teachers can use these resources to help students prepare for exams.
Past papers, Learner Guides, Example Candidate Responses and Specimen Paper Answers are available on the relevant subject page of our secure School Support Hub. Every Cambridge school has a login and teachers can download the resources for free.
