The most common English language proficiency tests required by universities are TOEFL and IELTS. You may be required to take one of these tests if you are not a native English speaker. However, some universities will waive this requirement because you have been educated in English or if you hold a good grade in Cambridge IGCSE English (First or Second Language) or Cambridge International AS Level or A Level English. Universities will list their requirements on their websites. Some institutions will require evidence of your English language exam results directly from the education provider.
If you hold a specific grade in Cambridge IGCSE English language qualifications you can ask us to provide a results transcript. If you took an English language test provided by our sister organisation, Cambridge Assessment English, you will need to ask them to share the results with your chosen institution. You can find guidance on how to do this on the Cambridge English website
