University: A degree in Veterinary Medicine at University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Career: Victoria completed the Godolphin Flying Start Scholarship in Management and Leadership in the International Thoroughbred Industry 2019-21 and has now taken up an internship with an equine veterinary practice in Australia.
“Cambridge International programmes, including Cambridge IGCSE, ICE, and International AS Level, provided me with a sound academic foundation in a demanding bilingual school context in Argentina. I went on to study Veterinary Science at the University of Buenos Aires and I also sat the IELTS test (from Cambridge English) to prove my skills in the English language.
“After completing my degree, I gained a place on the Godolphin Flying Start Scholarship in Management and Leadership in the International Thoroughbred Industry 2019-2021. This is a two-year programme that specialises in the international thoroughbred racing and breeding industry, with training taking place in Ireland, UK, USA, Australia and Dubai.
“I graduated in July 2021 and am now preparing to move to Australia to take up a role as a veterinary intern at a leading equine veterinary practice. Once there, my plan is to take the Australasian Veterinary Examination so my degree can be recognised in Australia and New Zealand.”
Benefits of a bilingual education
“I strongly recommend students to take the Cambridge International programme, due to its standards, diversity of subject choice, and recognised accreditation throughout the world for secondary school students who wish to embark on their university studies.
“Studying in English and becoming bilingual has also opened up my study and career opportunities. When applying for the Irish National Stud Thoroughbred Breeding course, the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship, the Australian visa, and to start the process of studying in Australia, an English exam with a minimum score has always been requested as part of my application.
“My level of English is considered a C2 nowadays (the highest level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), and it is thanks to the preparation I had for the Cambridge International examinations.”
