Our curriculum frameworks for English also include an 'English as a second language' option.
A foundation for progression
Cambridge Lower Secondary provides excellent preparation for Cambridge Upper Secondary and other educational programmes. Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests can be used to monitor learners’ readiness for the next stage of education.
Cambridge Lower Secondary includes two testing options: Cambridge Lower Secondary Progression Tests and Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint. These assessments provide an international benchmark of student achievement, helping teachers to identify learners’ strengths and weaknesses and give advice on progression routes.
Appropriate and relevant internationally, Cambridge Lower Secondary has been designed to be culturally sensitive. It includes top-quality teaching and assessment resources appropriate for teaching and learning in local and international schools.
Schools can use Cambridge Lower Secondary with other curricula. No part of the programme is compulsory, so teachers can use the materials to suit their own situation.
Comprehensive support for teachers
Support includes face-to-face and online training, curriculum frameworks, teacher guides, lists of resources and a secure support site.
Schools can use Cambridge ICT Starters within Cambridge Lower Secondary to introduce learners to the key ICT applications they need to achieve computer literacy. It gives schools a flexible framework to develop ICT skills.
