Through the Cambridge O Level Geography syllabus, learners will develop a 'sense of place' by looking at the world around them on a local, regional and global scale. Learners examine a range of natural and man-made environments, and learn about some of the processes that affected their development. They will also look at the ways in which people interact with their environment, and the opportunities and challenges an environment can present, thereby gaining a deeper insight into the different communities and cultures that exist around the world.
The syllabus year refers to the year in which the examination will be taken.
We are withdrawing the June exam series for Cambridge O Level Geography (2217). The last June exam series will be June 2019. From 2020, we will only offer Cambridge O Level Geography (2217) in the November exam series. We communicated this decision to schools in May 2016. We do offer a June and November series for Cambridge IGCSE Geography, so you may be interested in this syllabus as a possible alternative.
For some subjects, the syllabus states that Grade Descriptions will be made available after first assessment in 2020 or 2021.
Publication of grade descriptions for these syllabuses has been delayed. This is to make sure that grade descriptions reflect examination outcomes appropriately and are based on the full range of candidate performance after the 2020 and 2021 series.
From 2020, we have made some changes to the wording and layout of the front covers of our question papers to reflect the new Cambridge International branding and to make instructions clearer for candidates - learn more.
We provide a wide range of support so that teachers can give their learners the best possible preparation for Cambridge programmes and qualifications. For teachers at registered Cambridge schools, support materials for specific syllabuses are available from the School Support Hub (username and password required).
