Cambridge O Level Bengali is designed for learners who already have a working knowledge of the language and who want to consolidate their understanding in order to progress in their education or career. Through their studies, learners gain an understanding of how to use Bengali effectively in the type of situations that they will encounter in their daily lives in Bengali-speaking environments.
From 2021, the syllabus focuses on the linked language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Through their study of Cambridge O Level Bengali, learners can achieve a level of practical communication ideal for everyday use, which can also form the basis for further, more in-depth language study.
From 2020 this syllabus will only be available in administrative zones 3 and 4. Check the administrative zone for your school.
For further information please contact our Customer Services team at email@example.com.
The syllabus year refers to the year in which the examination will be taken.
We have updated Cambridge O Level Bengali as part of our rolling review programme to make sure it meets the needs of our schools, and to match the approach and demand of similar language qualifications. The updated syllabus is available for examination from 2021 onwards.
The updated syllabus is for assessment from June 2021 onwards. Please see the 2021 syllabus above for full details.
We are developing a wide range of support to help you plan and teach the 2021 syllabus.
Look out for support materials to help you deliver the 2021 syllabus including a Scheme of work for Listening and a list of resources. These materials will be available from April 2019 onwards (before first teaching) through our School Support Hub.
