Today, more than 278,000 students in 147 countries will receive their Cambridge IGCSE and O Level results from our June 2023 exam series. This year’s exam series is our largest on record, putting more learners than ever in a strong position, ready for the next steps on their educational journey.
We received more than 892,000 entries for Cambridge IGCSE and O Level in June 2023 – an increase of 6 per cent from June 2022.
Rod Smith, Group Managing Director for International Education at Cambridge said: 'I congratulate Cambridge students for their hard work in achieving these results. They have shown great resilience over the past few years and have kept on moving forward with their education. With these qualifications our students can feel confident that they have developed the knowledge and skills they need for the future, so they can achieve in school and beyond.
'I also want to express particular thanks to Cambridge schools and teachers, who once again have displayed tremendous commitment and passion for education that has been core to their students’ success.'
Like other exam boards, we have been moving the standard of Cambridge qualifications back to the pre-pandemic standard of 2019 in gradual steps. This year’s standard has returned to the standard of 2019 and we have taken into account the impact of the pandemic when setting the grade boundaries. This means a student who would have achieved a grade A before the pandemic will be just as likely to get an A in 2023.
There were more than 1.7 million entries for Cambridge International exams in the June 2023 exam series. This is an increase of 11 per cent from June 2022. Across the entire Cambridge International exam series, we have issued grades to 576,000 students across 5,600 schools and in 147 countries. We are immensely proud of the accomplishments of our students and schools.
Cambridge International AS & A Level results were released on 10 August.
