In August 2022, Cambridge University Press & Assessment (Cambridge) established the International Education group. The group brought together Cambridge Assessment International Education, Cambridge University Press Education and Cambridge Partnership for Education to offer schools and governments worldwide a more joined-up experience of working with Cambridge, and an innovative range of services that combines our expertise in learning and assessment.
As part of these changes, we are introducing some exciting new developments.
To better reflect what we can now offer to schools around the world we are introducing a new look, logo and name. We are also updating our messaging to highlight our continued commitment to support our schools to prepare their learners for the future opportunities and challenges ahead.
Together, we hope these changes will make it easier for our partners and schools to see the different ways in which our aligned offer can support learners to be ready for the world.
Our new name is simply Cambridge.
We work with schools worldwide to build an education that shapes knowledge, understanding and skills. Together, we give learners the confidence they need to thrive and make a positive impact in a changing world.
Cambridge International Education is the new name of our awarding body. We will use this name on materials related to administering our exams and awarding our qualifications so it’s clear which awarding body within Cambridge University Press & Assessment schools are working with.
Rod Smith, Group Managing Director for International Education at Cambridge said: 'At Cambridge we believe that education works best when curriculum, teaching and learning, resources and assessment are closely aligned. By joining up our expertise in all these areas, we are strengthening this approach. Schools can use our International Education programmes, qualifications and resources to build an education that meets their needs and shapes learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills.
With our new name and look now reflecting our joint offer we hope our schools will find it easier to see the different ways in which we can support them. Together, we can help learners get ready for the world.'
What does this mean for our partners and schools?
We will gradually phase out the existing names and logos of the organisations that make up the International Education group. This will take time and you will continue to see our existing names, logos and messaging as we phase in the new ones.
In the short term, our partners and schools will not experience any significant changes to our services, other than an integrated and clearer presentation of previously separate offers. The names of our qualifications and programmes are not changing.
From November 2023 onwards, we will:
- start to despatch new school plaques in a more sustainable material
- share new Cambridge International School logos, guidelines and press releases on our Communications toolkit to help you promote your association with Cambridge to parents and other stakeholders.
We are planning to introduce our new awarding body name, Cambridge International Education, across relevant materials related to our exams such as certificates, question papers and syllabuses, from March 2024 onwards.
