30 Oct 2026
From 2027, students taking Cambridge International AS & A Levels in the June exam series will get their results almost two weeks earlier than now, giving them more time to make important decisions and preparations for their onward step, whether that be into higher education (HE) or the workplace. Results for the June 2027 series will be released on 28 July 2027. All other exam results will remain the same.
The change to the June series AS & A Levels results date follows discussion with schools, students, families, universities and HE admissions bodies. Receiving results earlier will give students more time to confirm university places, complete enrolment, apply for visas and arrange travel and accommodation.
Rod Smith, Group Managing Director, International Education, said: “Many schools and students around the world have told us that earlier results would make a real, practical difference to them. Releasing results earlier gives students more time to sort out their next steps. We have planned this move very carefully so that schools and universities can have the same confidence in the results as they do now.”
What it means in different countries
How much difference the earlier date makes depends on where a student is going. For example:
- Portugal: students will find it easier to meet deadlines for the results equivalence that universities use for admission.
- Pakistan: students will have more time to get equivalence from the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and complete admissions.
- US: students starting at universities that begin term in mid-August will have more time to secure advanced credit or sort out visas.
- Australia: students who don’t want a break in their studies may now be able to start university in the second semester of the same year.
- UK: universities will have more time to confirm places and resolve outstanding conditions during the busy August period.

What stays the same
The June series results date for Cambridge IGCSE and O Level will not change. Neither will results dates for the March and November series of Cambridge International Education exams including Cambridge International AS & A Levels in these series. Deadlines for post-results services are also the same, and Enquiries about Results and Access to Scripts will open on results day.
Cambridge International AS & A Levels can be used to access over 2,500 universities worldwide. This June, almost 368,000 students in 3,492 schools across 122 countries received Cambridge International AS & A Level results in August, with entries up 5% on the previous year.
Cambridge will share more guidance with schools before the June 2027 exam series.
