Shortlist announced
The nomination period for the 2024 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards has come to a close with a record number of nominations. The competition, in which anyone can nominate a current primary or secondary teacher, received a staggering 14,830 nominations from 141 different countries. This tops the current record by over 1,000 nominations.
With such a vast outpouring of love for teachers around the globe, shortlisting has been particularly tricky this year. Nominations highlighted the important role that teachers have in shaping the lives of their learners. One teacher was described as a ‘beacon of hope’, another as ‘leaving an indelible mark on our hearts,’ while there was also mention of ‘terrible, albeit funny puns,’ highlighting the lighter side of the profession too.
You can now read the 90 shortlisted nominations by going to the Cambridge Dedicated Teacher site; we guarantee the stories will bring a smile to your face.
Once again, thank you to all the learners, parents and teachers who nominated.
Next steps
Our panel of judges now have the unenviable task of deciding on nine regional winners who we will announce on the Cambridge International social media platforms on 24 April 2024.
These lucky winners will appear on a thank you page at the front of our new publishing and will also receive £500 worth of Cambridge books or digital resources, along with a Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards trophy, and promotion for them and their school throughout the year.
Out of these nine winners, the public will then vote on their favourite to become the overall winner of Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards 2024. We will announce the winner on 29 May 2024.
