The roadmap for digital exams
Digital exams will be available worldwide from June 2027 onwards. Find out which subjects and components will have a digital option in our roadmap.
The following two updated syllabuses – for first examination in 2028 – will have digital components:
Cambridge International AS & A Level Media Studies (9607)
Excerpt from syllabus:
- Component 2: Media texts and contexts: This now a digital only exam – students view the excerpt on an individual device and type their responses on screen.
- Component 4: Critical perspectives: This is now a digital only exam – students type their responses on screen.

Cambridge IGCSE Spanish (0530)
Excerpt from syllabus:
- Students will now be able to take this exam in digital format. The paper-based version will continue to be available. The digital version will have the audio embedded with the on-screen questions, no paper materials needed. The other three components (reading, writing and speaking) will remain in current paper format.

January 2026 Digital Mocks Service
