Today marks an important milestone for more than 315,000 students worldwide as they receive their Cambridge IGCSE and O Level results. Together, they made almost one million entries for our upper secondary qualifications in the June 2026 series, studying at nearly 5000 schools across 144 countries.
'We are proud to celebrate our Cambridge IGCSE and O Level learners worldwide today and to thank all the teachers and families who supported them. As you get ready for the next stage of your education, take a moment to reflect on everything you have achieved. During your studies you have gained deep knowledge across a broad range of subjects, as well as a strong set of skills and study habits to help you thrive in the future. We wish you all the best of luck for your next steps,' said Rod Smith, Group Managing Director for International Education at Cambridge.
As the world’s largest provider of international curriculum for 14-to-16-year-olds, Cambridge has over 160 years’ experience of delivering education that combines international standards with local needs. Entries for the June series grew once again – with almost 757,000 entries for Cambridge IGCSE (up 3% on June 2025) and almost 231,000 entries (up 2%) for Cambridge O Level - reflecting continued demand for globally-recognised qualifications that are proven to help students transition successfully to the next stage of education and can strengthen future university applications.
Flexible curriculum suits diverse global community
Students sat exams in 117 Cambridge IGCSE and O Level syllabuses in the June series, illustrating their diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The flexibility of the Cambridge curriculum means schools can build programmes to match their students’ needs, tailoring content to their experiences and offering a wide choice of subject pathways.
At Cambridge IGCSE the most popular subjects were Mathematics, Physics, First Language English, Chemistry and Biology. English Language was the most popular Cambridge O Level subject, followed by Mathematics, Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat and Urdu as a Second Language.
Entries for Cambridge Global Perspectives, a skills-focused subject, continue to grow, with combined IGCSE and O Level entries up 9% in June. As part of the qualification, students work together on team projects and engage with issues that impact them nationally and globally – from fast fashion and food waste, to the impact of AI on learning. Along the way they develop a strong set of skills in critical thinking, research and communication that not only prepare them for the next stage of education but empower them for the future.
Growth of the June series
The release of Cambridge IGCSE and O Level results today follows the release of Cambridge International AS & A Level results on 11 August. Entries for Cambridge International AS & A Level grew by 5% on last year, reflecting the increasing global demand for qualifications that provide a trusted route to higher education.
In total, 705,000 students in 148 countries sat Cambridge exams in the June 2026 series, with overall entries up to 1.7 million.
