Digital Mocks Service

Since the launch of our Digital Mocks Service in 2023, over 23,000 Cambridge IGCSE and International AS & A Level digital mock exams have been sat across 20 subjects in 60 countries.

We encourage Cambridge schools planning to deliver digital exams in the future to participate in our Digital Mocks Service. This service provides a like-for-like experience of a digital exam, offering both schools and students valuable practice and familiarisation. It also helps schools assess their readiness for digital exams in the future.

Our Digital Mocks Service mirrors the style and standards of our final exams but delivers them digitally. We use past paper content to maintain standardisation and ensure predictive validity between the digital mock exams and paper-based exams. Read more about the benefits of this service below.

The benefits of our Digital Mocks Service

• Trusted results: Our multiple-choice question (MCQ) digital mock exams are auto-marked, and our non-MCQ digital mock exams are Cambridge marked. The reliability of the exams has been shown to match that of large-scale paper-based exams and the equivalent final exams.
• Targeted feedback: Teachers and learners get detailed results showing each student’s mark at a question and test level. This helps to inform where to focus revision.
• Flexibility: Cambridge schools can select a seven-day window for their digital mock exams, enabling them to choose a time that best fits their class schedule, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Efficient exam experience: Digital mocks enable students to manage their time efficiently in the exam, and allows them to easily review and amend their answers. Our exam platform also includes capabilities such as a highlighter tool, digital note taking and embedded audio and video files which enable students to personalise their exam experience.
• Preparation for digital exams: Our Digital Mocks Service gives students, teachers and exams officers an opportunity to become familiar and confident with digital exams, as it offers a like-for-like experience of a digital exam in a practice setting.
• Opportunity to feedback: By participating in our Digital Mocks Service and sharing feedback, you will directly contribute to improving digital exams, ensuring they meet the needs of learners globally.

How it works

1. Schools complete our digital mocks series Expression of Interest form.
   • Schools express their interest in participating by submitting the form online.
2. Schools are invited to book their preferred assessment week through our booking portal on My Cambridge.
   • Schools choose a suitable week for their students to sit the digital mocks.
3. Pre-test day setup:
   • The exams officer or teacher generates unique logins for each student on our booking portal.
   • We provide support resources, including user guides, webinars and FAQs.
   • Our Customer Services team is available 24 hours a day, 6 days a week.
4. Students take the mock exams at any time within the chosen week.
   • Schools have the flexibility to schedule exams at a time that suits them. Students can take the mock exams all at the same time on one day, or schools can schedule the exams across different dates and times within the assessment week.
   • Each student logs in via their unique credentials to access and complete their digital mock exam.
5. Results and reports:
   • You can access auto-marked results within two hours.
   • We provide examiner-marked results within 14 days.
   • We provide reports in .csv and .pdf formats through My Cambridge.
6. Invoicing:
   • We invoice you within two weeks of completing the digital mocks.
   • Payments will be processed via invoice.
