What will I learn?
During this course, you will explore the following key questions:
- How can individual teachers reflect on the impact of their teaching and learning?
- How can the bigger picture (at school or faculty level) help us in the classroom?
- How can measuring the progress of our learners effectively help us to develop and nurture high quality teaching and learning?
- How far (and in what ways) can numerical data help us to do this?
- What are the benefits and challenges of seeking to evaluate impact?
- How do we apply what we've learnt to develop classroom practice in our classrooms?
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for teachers or middle leaders (such as Heads of Department) who are interested in developing the quality of teaching and learning. This would also be suitable for candidates for the PDQ certificate or diploma in Teaching and Learning.

Course materials
In preparation for the course, please download the course materials to a laptop in advance - these are usually available 2 weeks before the course start date. To locate the materials, log in to the Professional Development Booking Portal, go to ‘My Bookings’ and click on the course – a link to download the materials will then appear.
Please ensure you bring the device with the downloaded materials with you to the course.

We offer a 10% early bird registration discount for this course if you book your place more than 28 days before the course start date. Registrations will close 7 days before the course starts.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Participants who attend at least 75% of this course will receive a certificate of participation.
Please note: in the event that this course is cancelled for any reason, we are unable to refund any travel or hotel costs that you have incurred.
Language
This course will be delivered in English. English language competence comparable to Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is necessary to fully participate. We recommend a minimum requirement of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Further information may be obtained through the Council of Europe website.
