As the largest provider of school-aged education, Cambridge today released results for the June 2025 series of Cambridge IGCSE and O Level exams to over 300,000 students in 4,231 schools across 139 countries. When it comes to subjects, an increasing number of students are choosing future-focused subjects such as business, economics, computer science, enterprise, and Cambridge Global Perspectives, signalling a growing shift toward education that blends academic strength with practical skills for a changing world.
Entries for Cambridge qualifications continue to rise, reflecting the growing value families place on an international education that prepares learners not only for further study but for life and work in a more connected world. The June 2025 series saw nearly 740,000 Cambridge IGCSE entries (up 5% on June 2024) and almost 227,000 Cambridge O Level entries (up 4% on June 2024), with learners sitting exams in schools across Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean, South Asia, East Asia, Europe, the Middle East & North Africa, Pakistan, Southeast Asia & Pacific and the US.
Mathematics remains the most popular Cambridge IGCSE subject globally, followed by Physics, First Language English, Chemistry, and Biology. At Cambridge O Level, the most popular subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies, and Second Language Urdu. However, there was a rise in students taking Enterprise, Commerce, Business and Computer Science qualifications.
