The University of Hong Kong has appointed Kevin Ebenezer, Director, University Pathways & Progression for International Education at Cambridge, to a new Advisory Board set up to strengthen the university’s connections with exam boards and top schools globally. The University of Hong Kong was recently named Asia’s top university in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, which features over 1,500 academic institutions. It is one of five Hong Kong universities that made it into the top ten.
Kevin leads a team of experts at Cambridge that work closely with universities around the world to support university pathways and progression—an approach called "recognition." In his new role, he will lend his expertise to support The University of Hong Kong with its aims of ensuring student preparedness, admissions alignment and awareness of global education trends.
"A large factor in why parents and students choose Cambridge is knowing that our qualifications are recognised by top universities globally, so I’m delighted to join the Advisory Board the University of Hong Kong and collaborate with them to enhance mutual understanding of educational trends, improve student transition to higher education and foster strategic collaboration."
As part of the Advisory Board, the University of Hong Kong aims to create a formal platform for high schools and the university to exchange insights on issues including emerging trends in secondary education, local education systems and student expectations. The board will also co-develop strategies for admissions, outreach and curriculum alignment as well as for underrepresented student groups, admissions best practices and student selection criteria.
Also key will be to build long-term relationships with high-performing secondary institutions that will allow the university to promote Hong Kong, China as a destination for global talent, attracting top students from across the globe.
