More than 1000 schools across the Middle East & North Africa are now Cambridge International Schools, highlighting the growing demand in the region for an international education with local accessibility.
Sedra Pioneer International Academy in Jordan has become the 1000th school to join the growing Cambridge community in the region. Says the schools’ Academic Director Kholoud Abu-Hijleh: "We value Cambridge’s broad offering, which gives our students access to a wide range of qualifications recognised in Jordan and around the world. By becoming a Cambridge International School, we’re also joining a strong community of more than 100 schools in Jordan and over 10,000 schools worldwide. We are delighted that our school has contributed to Cambridge reaching the milestone of 1,000 schools!"
Why more schools are choosing Cambridge
The many ways in which Cambridge supports schools to equip learners for a rapidly changing world is a key factor in the growth says Regional Director for MENA Waseem Salah Al Hanbali: "A large factor in why schools choose Cambridge is knowing that our qualifications are trusted and accepted by universities and employers worldwide, along with a broad subject offering that continuously evolves to reflect global trends and equip learners with the skills they need in the future, such as climate education and digital literacy. They are also attracted by the support we provide to teachers with training, resources, and professional development that empower teachers to deliver high-quality learning."
Each year, nearly 120,000 students enter for over 300,000 qualifications across the Middle East & North Africa region, supported by more than 100 professional development workshops to over 2500 teachers. In addition, learners across the region engage with over 1.3 million Cambridge educational resources.
The growth of Cambridge across MENA reflects a global trend towards international education, with a record number of students taking Cambridge exams in 2025. Nearly 600 students across the MENA region have recently been celebrated at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, which recognise exceptional achievement in Cambridge exams around the world.
With Cambridge, students can choose from more than 50 subjects at International AS & A Level and more than 70 subjects at Cambridge IGCSE.
