Become a Centre

Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (Cambridge PDQs) are offered through approved Cambridge Professional Development Centres, quality assured by Cambridge. The Programme Leaders are accredited by Cambridge to develop and manage the programmes.

We are developing a comprehensive network of Cambridge Professional Development Centres so that schools, leaders and teachers have ready access to quality and affordable Cambridge PDQ programmes.

There are two main types of centre:

  • Cambridge school - Cambridge schools running an internal, school-based programme for their own teachers or a programme open to teachers in their local area.
  • Cambridge Professional Development provider - training providers running an external programme for Cambridge teachers in their local area.

The Cambridge Professional Development Centre approval process takes approximately four months. The steps in the process are summarised below.

Become a Cambridge Professional Development Centre

Step 1

Express your interest with Cambridge

If you are already a Cambridge school contact your Cambridge regional representative. Our regional representative will discuss your plans and, all being well, provide you with a PDQ Application form.

If you are not a Cambridge school please go to Join Cambridge for further information on the steps involved in becoming a Cambridge School and ensure you select Professional Development Qualifications when completing the Expression of interest

Step 2

Ensure programme is supported by the leadership team

To be approved your school leadership team or head of your organisation must support the programme. You must also have a suitable programme leader.

Step 3

Complete the Application Form

The nominated programme leader must submit the completed Application Form to your Cambridge regional representative, authorised by the head of your organisation.

Step 4

Enrol your nominated Programme Leader for induction

Cambridge will review the application, and when accepted your nominated programme leader will be enrolled on the next available online Programme Leader Induction course.

Step 5

Design and submit programme plan

During and after the online induction course, your nominated programme leader designs their programme plan and submits this with a rationale for review.

Step 6

Approval and accreditation

Once Cambridge has approved the programme plan and rationale, we accredit the programme leader and approve your school or organisation so the PDQ programme can start.
