Whatever subject you teach, it is essential you support learners in their understanding of how to use language effectively. In this course you will develop a wide range of strategies to support bilingual learners in your classroom. You will reflect on the differences between the types of language that learners require for academic success and share ideas of how to ensure language is not a barrier to learning in your subject.
What will I learn?
Under the guidance of an experienced Cambridge trainer, you will explore:
- the challenges bilingual learners experience in accessing subject content
- learner language profiles and how these might influence your approach
- how to teach academic vocabulary
- how to plan for and support language skill development in your subject.
