Effective school leaders are central to the development of excellence in schools. This two-day course will introduce many of the key responsibilities of a school leader, helping leaders to develop their skills and their personal vision for what effective schools look like.
What will I learn?
Under the guidance of an experienced Cambridge trainer, you will:
- explore theories and practices of effective leadership
- consider vision and strategy
- develop strategies that will help you to implement the Cambridge curriculum in your school
- increase understanding of the Cambridge approach to teaching and learning.
All Cambridge Enrichment courses focus on giving you practical ideas based on academic research. You will have many opportunities to share ideas.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for Heads of School and Senior Leaders who are new to this role and are interested in developing their leadership.

In preparation for the course, please download the course materials to a laptop in advance - these are usually available 2 weeks before the course start date. To locate the materials, log in to the Professional Development Booking Portal, go to ‘My Bookings’ and click on the course – a link to download the materials will then appear.
Please ensure you bring the device with the downloaded materials with you to the course.
Booking information
We offer a 10% early bird registration discount for this course if you book your place more than 28 days before the course start date. Please note, registrations will close 7 days before the first day of the course.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Participants who attend at least 75% of this course will receive a certificate of participation.
Please note: if this course is cancelled for any reason, we are unable to refund any travel or hotel costs that you have incurred.
Language
This course will be delivered in English. English language competence comparable to Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is necessary to fully participate. We recommend a minimum requirement of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Further information may be obtained through the Council of Europe website.
