Professional development courses terms and conditions

Online tutor-guided professional development

Payments:

Please note that we can only accept payment in the following currencies: £GBP, $USD or €Euro.

Early Bird booking discount:

An early bird booking discount is available for all online tutor-guided courses and workshops. Early bird booking deadlines are outlined on the relevant course page.

Payment by card:

Payment of the course fees can be by credit or debit card (excluding American Express) and is via a secure online payment system.

Payment by Invoice:

Registered Cambridge International Schools can be invoiced for the fees by selecting the invoice option when booking. If you select to pay by invoice, your booking will be pending until confirmed by your organisation.

Pending bookings which are not confirmed within 14 days will be cancelled. If the booking is still required then it will need to be booked again. Early Bird discounted prices are only valid for bookings confirmed before the advertised deadlines.

Cancellations and transfers:

You can cancel your booking through your account on the Professional Development Booking Portal. Cancellations made 7 days or less before the event start date will be charged in full. In the event we amend or cancel a course we will give notice of one week, where possible. Where a course is cancelled by Cambridge International, all course fees paid will be refunded in full.  

If you would like to transfer your booking to another course (provided there is space on the course), you will need to log in to the Professional Development Booking Portal in order to cancel your course and then book your place on the correct course.

We cannot accept transfers 7 days or less before the event start date. Cancellations will be charged in full.

If you are unable to attend last minute due to extenuating circumstances and wish to avoid a cancellation charge, please contact us at info@cambridgeinternational.org with a medical note or a supporting email from a senior member of staff at your school.

Enrolment:

The enrolment deadline for your online tutor-guided course is included in your joining instructions. The joining instructions will be sent to you 72 hours before the course starts and also on the start date of the course.

The deadline to enrol on the online tutor-guided course will be 5 days after the start date of the course.

If you do not enrol before the deadline, you will not be allowed to start the online tutor-guided course and your organisation will be charged in full. If you have paid using a credit card, the payment will not be refunded.

Certificates:

You will receive a certificate at the end of the online tutor-guided course if you meet the completion criteria to your tutor’s satisfaction.


Face-to-face professional development

Payments:

Payment by Invoice:

Early Bird discounted prices are only valid for bookings confirmed before the advertised deadlines.

Please note that registrations will close 1 week before the start date of the course.

Early Bird booking discount:
Where early bird booking discounts are advertised, bookings made more than 28 calendar days before the start date of the course receive a discount. Bookings received less than 28 days before the course start date will be charged at the full registration price. The early bird booking discount will be applied at the time of booking.

Certificate:

A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who attend at least 75% of the professional development course.

COVID-19 Events Policy:

Cambridge Assessment International Education is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of teachers attending a face-to-face course. Cambridge International will follow local guidelines in relation to Covid-19, which may include:

  • Socially distanced registration and seating
  • Masks to be worn by all venue support staff, delegates, and trainers at all times, in line with local regulations
  • Washing facilities and hand sanitizer provided throughout.

Please note attendance at this event is at your own risk. By attending, delegates agree they have met the following criteria:

  • They have not had any of the following flu-like symptoms in the 14 days prior to the event:
        - Fever (38°C/100°F or higher)
        - Cough
        - Breathlessness
        - Sore Throat
        - Loss of taste and/or smell

  • They or any of their immediate family members have not come in to close contact with a confirmed case of the coronavirus in the 14 days prior to the event (“Close contact” means being at a distance of less than one metre/6 feet for more than 15 minutes)

If you cannot meet the criteria above, it is vital that you do not attend the course. Please contact us at info@cambridgeinternational.org with a medical note or a supporting email from a senior member of staff at your school and you will be issued with a full refund.

Cambridge International reserves the right to cancel a booking or deny access to the event if any of the criteria above cannot be met.

Disclaimer

When booking a face-to-face course, it is the responsibility of the participants attending the course to arrange and pay for their own travel and accommodation. All travel to and from the course venue is the sole responsibility of participants.

Cambridge Assessment International Education shall not be liable for any loss, including travel and accommodation costs suffered by or on behalf of any person who wished to attend the events should we cancel them for any reason whatsoever.

Neither Cambridge Assessment International Education nor its directors, officers or agents are responsible or liable for the safety and property of participants or their companions during the events or any related excursions. Participants are advised to seek information on potential health and security risks incurred by themselves or their companions at the courses and to secure adequate insurance coverage.
