This update is to keep you informed about the November 2020 series for Cambridge International AS & Level and Cambridge IGCSE examinations.
Schools can run exams where they believe it is safe and where they have the necessary permissions from government and health authorities. Most schools tell us that they intend to run exams. We recognise that the current situation is different in every country, and that local restrictions may mean some schools are unable to hold exams.
We are not running an alternative to exams – such as calculated or predicted grades – in the November 2020 series. We have made many adaptations to assessment requirements to help schools run exams in challenging circumstances, helping to keep students safe and progress with their education. For example, we have adjusted some of the coursework, practical and speaking components for syllabuses where we know candidates may not be able to meet all the requirements due to Covid-19 restrictions.
In order to keep our schools, the higher education sector and other key stakeholders up to date with our approach, we have created a webpage with details of plans and answers to frequently asked questions that we hope will be useful. We will continue to update this page as the situation evolves and encourage you to check this periodically.
If you have any questions about our approach, then please contact us at recognitions@cambridgeinternational.org
Thank you for your continued interest and ongoing support for Cambridge learners and schools in affected countries.
