Global community

Nearly a million students in over 10,000 schools

A Cambridge school is part of a global community. Cambridge programmes and qualifications are taught to almost a million learners, in over 10,000 schools, across 160 countries. We actively support our schools and teachers, helping them achieve the best outcomes for their students. In turn, our schools give us invaluable feedback from a range of different perspectives – principal, teacher, student and parent – to make sure our qualifications remain relevant, world class, recognised and respected.

Professional and student learning communities

Cambridge teachers are connected. Through our professional learning communities – both online and face to face - teachers share views, information and resources, learning from each other. Our regular professional development events bring experts and teachers together, providing opportunities to expand knowledge and pool experience. Subject communities use the discussion forums on our School Support Hub. Our Cambridge Global Perspectives community uses an online learning area where teachers and students can collaborate with their counterparts in different parts of the world as part of the programme.

Local communities of schools

We support Cambridge schools to set up their own local communities, run by schools for schools. They work together to share knowledge and best practice in areas such as school leadership, curriculum planning, professional development and teaching. These local communities can support schools new to Cambridge or experiencing change – for example, when they introduce a new Cambridge programme. Together, they can organise training opportunities and events for students, such as sports day or debating societies.

If you would like to set up a Cambridge School Community in your area, you can contact your regional team. We also support the use of social media to provide a wider community where Cambridge teachers, exams officers, students and parents can share ideas and experiences. We have an active blog, with posts written by education experts and specialists at Cambridge International.
