Incorporate the Cambridge learner attributes – confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, engaged – into your classroom practice
Developing the learner attributes
Cambridge teachers can use syllabuses and other teacher materials to support instruction and prepare students for assessments.
We provide upcoming changes to syllabuses at least a year before first teaching. You can also register for syllabus alerts.
Planned syllabus updates
Cambridge International materials may have a name or format that is unfamiliar to US teachers. Below we explain what to expect in each type of resource and point to where it’s typically found.
Syllabuses explain what your learners need to know, what they must be able to do, and how they will be assessed.
Get guidance on planning the course, example lesson plans and templates, and preparing students for assessment.
One past paper for each subject is publicly available. Teachers can get many more past papers and specimen papers (example papers that have not been used in a past exam series) on the School Support Hub.
For papers (exams), mark schemes tell you what an examiner expects from an answer in order to award marks.
Like unit plans, schemes of work suggest a teaching sequence, activities for the classroom, and past paper exam resources.
For Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary, these documents map course learning objectives to Common Core State Standards.
Cambridge International provides subject-specific courses at both introductory and extension levels. We also offer enrichment professional development to give teachers and school leaders at all levels insight into key skills in teaching and learning. Courses may be offered as face-to-face, online, or virtual.
