The Cambridge International Award in Teaching and Learning is an introductory professional development programme that provides a rigorous foundation in teaching and learning.
We have created this programme in response to feedback from schools telling us that they can experience difficulties recruiting and retaining effective teachers. Through this programme teachers will be given the opportunity to develop their craft, building and developing confidence in teaching and learning – ultimately leading to improved outcomes for learners.
The programme connects learning with current teaching practice – enabling teachers to learn new theory and then practise and reflect on what they have learnt in their current teaching. The content is delivered by experienced practitioners through a blended programme of online learning, face to face workshops and reflective teaching practice supported by an in-school mentor.
The key features of the programme include:
- introducing the key principles of teaching and learning
- applying the importance of returning to and reinforcing understanding
- connecting theory and practice through teaching and observing lessons
- an in-school mentor to offer advice and encourage reflection.
