USA

VIDEO: US university admissions staff explain why they value Cambridge qualifications.前往优酷观看View on YouKu

A global leader in education, the USA is home to some of the world’s most famous universities. With a thriving population of local students, the US has also become the most popular destination for international students, with over 800,000 currently enrolled in higher education institutions across the country.

Applying with Cambridge qualifications

Every year both local and international students with Cambridge qualifications attend top universities across the USA. Many universities also offer advanced credit to students holding Cambridge International A Levels, which means that Cambridge students are already ahead in their undergraduate programme before they even begin their college enrolment.

This video provides an insight into why university admissions staff in the USA value Cambridge qualifications so highly:

Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge O Level

Leading universities in the US require Cambridge International AS & A Levels for admissions, but some colleges and universities will accept students with five Cambridge IGCSEs or Cambridge O Levels at grade C or above. Check the admissions policies at individual institutions for more information.

Cambridge International AS & A Level

Over 850 universities in the US accept Cambridge International AS & A Levels, including all Ivy League colleges.

A number of research studies have explored the ability of Cambridge International AS & A Levels to predict ‘college-readiness’ – results suggest that Cambridge qualifications compare favourably with other recognised programmes in the US such as Advanced Placement (AP) and the International Baccalaureate (IB).

Cambridge Pre-U

Recognition of Cambridge Pre-U is growing. All the Ivy League colleges accept Cambridge Pre-U and so do many other leading universities in the USA.

Cambridge AICE Diploma

The Cambridge International AS & A Levels that make up the Cambridge AICE Diploma are welcomed by leading universities in the USA - as shown in the following video, which also explains how the Cambridge AICE Diploma prepares students for university study.
