Cambridge O Level Setswana is designed for learners who already have a working knowledge of the language and who want to consolidate, and develop further, their understanding to progress in their academic or professional careers.
Learners gain an understanding of how to use Setswana effectively in the type of situations, and Setswana-speaking environments, that they will encounter in their daily lives. The aim is to enable learners to achieve greater fluency, accuracy and confidence in the written language and to achieve a level of practical communication which can also form the basis for further, more in-depth language study.
The syllabus year refers to the year in which the examination will be taken.
We have redeveloped and renamed Cambridge O Level Setswana (3158). The new version is Cambridge IGCSE Setswana (0698).
The last assessment of Cambridge O Level Setswana (3158) will be November 2024. First assessment of the new Cambridge IGCSE Setswana syllabus will be in 2025.
From 2020, we have made some changes to the wording and layout of the front covers of our question papers to reflect the new Cambridge International branding and to make instructions clearer for candidates - learn more.
We provide a wide range of support so that teachers can give their learners the best possible preparation for Cambridge programmes and qualifications. For teachers at registered Cambridge schools, support materials for specific syllabuses are available from the School Support Hub (username and password required).
