Fourteen Hyderabad-based schools attended a Cambridge School Community meeting at Rockwell School in Hyderabad, India on Saturday 7 October 2017.
Cambridge School Communities bring schools together to share knowledge and experience. Several Communities have been set up in India and they meet regularly to strengthen local relationships between Cambridge schools and give feedback to Cambridge International.
The recent Hyderabad meeting focused on understanding the rebranding of Cambridge International Examinations to Cambridge Assessment International Education. Cambridge Schools Manager for South Asia, C S Lalith Prasad, attended the meeting and received very positive feedback on the name change from schools. The meeting also focused on how Cambridge schools in Hyderabad can work more effectively with the local education authorities to ensure a smooth transition from the local education board to an international board like Cambridge International.
The meeting concluded with a presentation from the guest speaker Dr P Nagendra Prasad, Director MIT Institutions, Pune, who gave pointers on the effective functioning of schools.
Ms Syeda Meraj Fatima of VIP’s International School said she valued the Cambridge School Community meetings: 'I hope we keep meeting and enhancing ourselves, and discuss problems faced by us and find solutions for the betterment of the Community.'
Another participant, Mrs Ratnalekha Shetty of Rockwell International School, Hyderabad, commented: 'These meetings are essential as school leaders can interact with and share resources with each other.'
The Hyderabad Schools community plans to meet once every few months to share their learnings and exchange best practices.
