Here are answers to the questions students most frequently ask us about Cambridge exam results. If your question is not here, please talk to your school or email your local Cambridge Schools Manager.
Results will be released on the following dates:
Your school may choose to provide access to your results online via the secure Candidate Results website. Your school will give you a login. Please ask your Cambridge coordinator for your login if you have not got one.
On results release day we send your school an electronic copy of your results and follow up with a hard copy approximately 2 weeks after this period. This document is called a ‘statement of results’ and it lists all the syllabuses you have taken and the grades you have been awarded. The statement of results is a provisional results document which we provide before the final certificate is printed. Therefore these may not be accepted by a university or other public body as they are not considered your final result. This is because there is a period of time in between the release of results and the issuing of certificates when you can query your grades with us. This is called submitting an enquiry about results. Once this period is over we issue certificates which are a confirmation of your final exam grade (refer to section below for information on how to send official transcripts to educational institutions).
We take great care in marking and grading your work, but if you have questions about your exam grades, talk to your school first as they will be able to advise you. Only your school can ask us to review one or more of your results (this is called an enquiry about results), and there is a time limit for this.
Your transcript is the official list of Cambridge exam grades that informs a college, university or other public body of your results in your Cambridge exams. Only you (the student) or your parents can submit a request for us to send a transcript to your chosen institution(s). Please confirm with your chosen institution(s) that they will accept this document as official confirmation of your Cambridge exams grades.
You can use the transcript application form (PDF, 952KB) to ask us to send your Cambridge International AS & A Level exam grades to your chosen institution(s) if they need a copy of your official exam grades to make credit by exam, placement or other decisions that depend on the exam grades. We send transcripts within 28 days of confirming we have received the order. There is no charge for this service. Cambridge International AS & A level exam grades will come on a combined transcript. See sample PDF (PDF, 118KB) of what universities receive for Cambridge International AS & A Levels
Search our Recognition database to find out the admission requirements and/or credit policies for the colleges and universities where you are sending your exam grades. We ask you always to confirm with the institution their latest policies regarding Cambridge courses and examinations.
This service is only available for applications to colleges and universities in the United States.
Our courses and examinations are recognized by the world’s best universities and employers, giving students a wide range of options in their education and career.
Once a college or university receives your official transcript, they will evaluate your exam grades alongside any other items you submit as part of your application to determine if you meet the admission requirements of the college or university. If the US college or university has a policy for granting credit or placement for Cambridge International AS or A-Level examinations, college officials will then determine how much college credit you will get once you enroll in the institution. Search our Recognition database to find out the admission requirements and/or credit policies for the colleges and universities where you are sending transcripts. We ask you to always confirm with the institution their latest policies regarding Cambridge courses and examinations.
You can choose to send Cambridge International AS & A Level exam grades for any exam period (series). We will show all passing exam grades for Cambridge International AS Level and Cambridge International A Level. We will not include non-passing outcomes on the transcript.
We recommend you submit your request by early spring of your senior year of high school. This means we will send your results from junior and earlier years to the institution(s) by the end of June. In August, as soon as we release results, you can ask for a second report for your senior year exam results.

Transcripts are sent to colleges and universities located in the USA only. If you need to send your Cambridge exam grades to a college or university outside of the US then apply for a Certifying Statement.
You do not need to request a certifying statement if you are applying to a university in the United Kingdom. We send all results to the universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) in time to meet the university deadlines.
You are qualified to apply for the exam results transcript service if you have sat your exams in the USA and the college or university where the transcript is being sent to is located in the USA.
If you have not sat your exams in the USA or if you would like your transcripts to be sent to any other destination (your own address or third party) you can apply for a Certifying Statement.
We do not send transcripts by email or directly to the candidates. If you would like a copy of your results sent to you in hard copy you can apply for a Certifying Statement.
We do not send transcripts by email for security reasons.
Please contact our customer service and provide them with as much information as you can relating to your application (reference number, date you submitted your application). We will investigate your query and resend the transcript where applicable.
Customer Service: email email@example.com or call 917-810-2660 (toll free, open 24 hours from Saturday 8pm EST to Friday 7:59am EST.)
Unfortunately, we do not include IGCSE grades on transcripts. If you need to send a copy of your IGCSE results, apply for a Certifying Statement.
Your exam grades will be reported in the same way as any other exam series and will carry the same value as grades and qualifications for any other series. All higher education institutions that we have consulted so far have indicated that they will accept June 2020 grades for admission and credit purposes.
Read our guidance to schools and students about how we are awarding grades for the June 2020 series.
Cambridge exam results are reported as follows:
Your statement of results lists all the syllabuses you have entered for and the Cambridge exam grades you have been awarded. Statements of results are not certificates and may not be accepted by a university or other public body when sent or handled by the student. Institutions with access to Cambridge International Direct can confirm the information on the statement of results through the verification portal.

If you have lost your certificate, or need another copy of your exam grades, we can issue you with a certifying statement. Please complete the application form below. The form explains what you need to do before we can send a certifying statement either directly to you or to any public institution. The certifying statement shows all exam grades, except ‘UNGRADED’, ’NO RESULT’, ’PENDING’ or ‘TO BE ISSUED’ results.
Please check that this certifying statement will be accepted by universities and other institutions as proof of your exam results. We will deal with correctly submitted applications within four weeks of receiving them.
