District of the Year Awards in US are awards issued by Cambridge Assessment International Education. They recognise districts who have consistently high learner performance in their schools and who have also continued to expand their offering of the Cambridge Pathway. The primary purpose of these awards is to celebrate and recognise the success of high-performing districts, their schools and their learners.
Each year we award one district in each of the following segments:
The District of the Year Award is based on the following criteria:
Criteria 1 – Sustained high performance
Based on the last three years of data we look at which districts continue to maintain or grow their high performing pass rates.
Criteria 2 – Performance compared to other schools
For the current school year we review the total number of Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards and Cambridge Scholar Awards a District has as a percentage of total entries.
Criteria 3 – Access
Based on the last three years of data we review the districts’ student participation in the Cambridge IGCSEs and Cambridge International AS & A Levels.
Criteria 4 – Equity
Measure the districts' impact on economically disadvantaged students.
