US District of the Year Award

The US District of the Year Award recognises school districts that have consistently strong student performance in their schools and that continue to expand their offering of the Cambridge Pathway.

Congratulations to 2021-22 US District of the Year Award recipients!

  • School District of Lee County (large district)
  • St. Lucie Public Schools (medium district)
  • Corinth School District (small district)

Read about the 2021-22 district winners.

About the awards

Each year we honor three districts in the following segments: large districts with over 20,000 students enrolled in high school; medium districts with between 10,000-20,000 students enrolled in high school; and small districts with less than 10,000 students enrolled in high school.

The District of the Year Award is based on the following criteria:

Criteria 1 – Sustained high performance

Based on the last three years of data we look at which districts continue to maintain or grow their high performing pass rates.

Criteria 2 – Performance compared to other schools

For the current school year we review the total number of Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards.

Criteria 3 – Access and equity

Based on the last two years of data, we review the extent to which a district has provided all students in their district the opportunity to participate in the Cambridge program. This includes district school and student participation and accessibility to the subjects offered. We also look at the growth of Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level entries in the past three years.
