‘Leading learning’
The first of three Cambridge Schools Conferences planned for 2016 was hosted by St John’s College, Johannesburg, South Africa on 28–29 April 2016. Delegates were encouraged to explore and discuss the theme of ‘Leading learning’ – a topic which is fundamental to the work of all educators. 83 per cent of delegates attended from the Sub-Saharan Africa region, taking the opportunity to meet with delegates from other countries around the world.
They heard keynote speeches from Professor Cheryl de la Rey, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, University of Pretoria, Cambridge’s Director, Education, Dr Tristian Stobie, and Deputy Director, Professional Development, Lee Davis. We were also pleased to welcome back both Guy Claxton and C. J. Simister, who had previously spoken at our 2014 conferences.
