Cambridge Primary Global Perspectives allows learners aged 5 to 11 to develop and embed the skills of analysis, collaboration, communication, evaluation, reflection and research from the beginning of their formal education. These skills will support them during their primary years and prepare them for Cambridge Lower Secondary and beyond.
In response to feedback from our schools, we have made some small but important changes to Cambridge Primary Global Perspectives. We have:
- refreshed the aims and learner attributes to better align with Cambridge IGCSE and O Level Global Perspectives
- made changes to the learning objectives to make it clearer what learners should be able to do
- introduced definitions of ‘perspectives’ and ‘issues’, which are common across Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and O Level Global Perspectives
- refreshed the list of suggested topics
- added more guidance to the teacher guide to support teachers
- refreshed the Challenges and resources for each stage
- introduced new example Challenges and lesson plans for language support and teaching sustainability
- revised the Team Project task and assessment criteria for assessment in 2023 onwards. Instructions for this assessment are now in a separate document called Cambridge Primary Global Perspectives Checkpoint Instructions
- introduced new assessment guidance for assessing Stages 1 to 6
- added examples of the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Global Perspectives Team Project.
If you are a registered Cambridge International School, you can download the new curricula and resources now from the Cambridge Primary support site.
