This syllabus is intended for high ability learners who have achieved, or are likely to achieve, grade A*, A or B in the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics examination. Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics enables learners to extend the mathematical skills, knowledge and understanding developed in the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics course and use skills in the context of more advanced techniques.
We reviewed Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics at the same time as our full suite of mathematics syllabuses. We made some changes to this course to help learners progressing to further study of mathematics such as Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics. The syllabus has been updated to make sure it represents current international best practices.
To help you deliver the updated syllabus, we are developing a comprehensive support package including a scheme of work and an Example Candidate Response booklet. These resources will be available via our Teacher Support site. A range of textbooks prepared by our Core Team Publishers will also be available.
