In revising our Cambridge International AS & A Level syllabuses we have consulted with some of the world’s leading higher education institutes – including the University of Cambridge, Harvard and MIT. They told us that what really helps learners succeed at university is a firm grasp of the subject’s key concepts.
Key concepts are essential ideas that help students develop a deep understanding of their subject and make links between different aspects. Key concepts may open up new ways of thinking about, understanding or interpreting the important things to be learned.
Our revised syllabuses clearly identify the key concepts in Cambridge International AS & A Level subjects so that teachers can build them into their teaching.

We are also delighted to announce the arrival of five more syllabuses that will be available for examination in March series from March 2021.
With over 50 subjects to choose from, students can select the ones they love and that they’re best at, which helps motivate them throughout their studies. Learners develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in their chosen subjects. They can choose to study Cambridge International AS Level as a standalone qualification that usually lasts one year, or to complete Cambridge International A Level that is usually a two year course.
