Cambridge Assessment International Education representatives, together with colleagues from Cambridge English and Cambridge Assessment, have featured prominently in this year’s International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) conference in Singapore.
The conference, celebrating its 40th year, is recognised as an important assessment event and brings together experts in assessment and education, practitioners, researchers, policymakers and examination authorities from around the world.
Contributors from Cambridge Assessment International Education at the week-long conference included Helen Eccles, Director of Development, who presented the Cambridge approach to 21st century skills and Phineas Hodson, speaking on organisational approaches to large-scale evaluation.
Chief Executive Michael O’Sullivan, talking at the event, said: “It is a great honour to be part of the 40th International Association for Educational Assessment Conference. The theme for this year’s conference, assessment innovations for the 21st century, is at the heart of our work at Cambridge Assessment International Education. Our mission is to provide schools with world-class programmes, backed by teacher support, that prepare learners for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century."
“We understand that it is only through a combination of innovative syllabuses, respected qualifications and effective teaching that we will enable today’s learners to become tomorrow’s active citizens, capable of achieving their own potential and shaping a better world for all. Singapore, with its outstanding record of successful innovation in education, is an ideal venue for this year’s conference.”
Cambridge Assessment International Education enjoys a successful educational collaboration with Singapore. Throughout a number of reforms since 1982, Singapore’s Cambridge Connection – built on mutual trust and understanding – continues to contribute to an education system that is recognised for high-quality outcomes around the world. Every year, tens of thousands of secondary learners take Singapore–Cambridge qualifications.
