As a world leader in providing international programmes and qualifications for school education, we are expanding our international team, including in South Asia. Having a dedicated local team is an important part of supporting our growing community of over 500 Cambridge schools in South Asia, and working effectively with universities and governments.
We are delighted to announce that Ruchira Ghosh joined us on 14 July as Regional Director, South Asia. Ruchira is based in Mumbai, India. She will be taking over from William Bickerdike, who will be leaving us at the end of August.
Ruchira has spent the last 12 years working for the British Council in India, where she most recently held the position of Head of Business Development – Schools. This involved managing relationships with school heads and senior government officials. This experience will be of great importance in her new role with Cambridge. Ruchira has a degree in sociology from Delhi University and a Master’s degree in social work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
She says, “It is a great pleasure to be joining Cambridge Assessment International Education, and I am looking forward to working with our growing number of schools in the South Asia region to develop our support for them and their learners.”
Ruchira will lead our growing South Asia team as well as building and strengthening relationships with schools, universities, governments and key education organisations including publishers and the British Council. Her appointment will support the growing popularity of Cambridge programmes and qualifications in the region.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank William Bickerdike for all his dedication and invaluable support over the years. We wish him all the best for the future.
