As a world leader in providing international programmes and qualifications for school education, we are expanding our international team, including in Latin America. Having a dedicated local team is an important part of supporting our growing community of over 300 Cambridge schools in Latin America, and working effectively with universities and governments.
We are delighted to announce that Richard Gilby joined us on 8 July as Regional Development Manager, Latin America. Richard is based in Mexico. He joins Senior Schools Development Manager Lucila Márquez, who is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Richard is no stranger to Cambridge International Examinations, having undertaken work for us as a consultant for many years. As well as school approval visits, he has previously undertaken some validation work for our Education division and has also worked with our Teaching & Learning team on pilot qualifications in Educational Leadership and Teaching with Digital Technologies. Richard has a considerable background in education, having taught various IGCSE and A Level subjects in a number of schools over the last 30 years, as well as running three Cambridge International Schools.
Richard says, “I am delighted to join Cambridge and am looking forward to working with Lucila to support our growing number of schools in Latin America. Having worked with Cambridge in various ways over the years, I’m very excited about this opportunity.”
Richard will lead our Latin America team, as well as building and strengthening relationships with schools, associates, universities, governments and key education organisations including publishers and the British Council. His appointment will support the growing popularity of Cambridge programmes and qualifications in the region.
