Our range of Covid-19 exemptions gives you flexible options for components where the teaching and/or assessment requires working with others, or access to certain facilities or equipment. If your candidates are unable to complete a component that meets these criteria you can apply, before the series, for your candidates to be exempt from the component. If your application is accepted and your candidates complete all the other components in the syllabus, we will calculate an assessed mark for the exempted component and issue a syllabus grade.
To support you, we have created a supplement that outlines Covid-19 exemption regulations applicable for the March 2021 series. You must use this, as well as the Cambridge Handbook, if you are running exams. You should apply to use exemptions before the exam series if you are not able to prepare candidates for certain components because of disruption caused by Covid-19.

You can submit applications for Covid-19 exemptions from 6-17 January 2021. The exams officer in your centre will have access to Direct and can download the application form.
