On this page you will find information about:
Preparing a portfolio of evidence in case exams cannot take place
In countries or regions of countries, where exams cannot take place, we will ask schools to submit a portfolio of three substantial pieces of evidence for each student. This will be marked by Cambridge International examiners.
Collecting evidence for a portfolio
Our guidance Collecting a portfolio of evidence (PDF, 444KB) for the November 2023 series explains the types of work that can be included in the portfolio and gives advice about when and how to gather this work.
Carrying forward marks on the portfolio of evidence route
The Carrying forward within the portfolio of evidence guide (PDF, 381KB) tells you which assessments we can carry forward on the portfolio of evidence route. It also explains the different approaches to carrying forward AS Level components to A Level when using this route.
Important: If we move you to the portfolio of evidence route then we will automatically move ‘best of both’ candidates to the staged option. If you have any candidates entered for Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics (9709) and/or Further Mathematics (9231) there may be more than one possible staged entry option which is suitable for your candidate(s).
Entry guidance
We know many of you have questions about how your exam route entry options are amended if we move you to portfolio of evidence. View our Entry guidance - moving to a portfolio of evidence (PDF, 508KB) for more information.
Marking the portfolio
We know you have questions about how we mark portfolios of evidence. We have produced a Marking a portfolio of evidence factsheet (PDF, 598KB) to explain how we do this and to answer some of your frequently asked questions.
