Below is a summary of information from our email updates to schools, including changes to deadlines. This information only applies to schools who are able to run exams in the June 2021 series.
School-assessed grades
We are no longer able to switch a country or region to school-assessed grades. If your school is forced to close, please get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can talk with you about next steps.
Special consideration supplement
We have produced a supplement to help you with special consideration applications. This is available on our special consideration page.
Submitting candidates' details for Covid-19 exemptions
The deadline for submitting candidates’ details for Covid-19 exemptions has now passed. If you have not told us which candidates you would like to exempt from which approved components, please email us at covidexemptions@cambridgeinternational.org as soon as possible.
University recognition
Universities understand our approach to the June 2021 exam series and have assured us that they will be as fair as possible. This list shows the responses from universities so far and we update this list weekly. It is not a definitive list, so we encourage students to contact their chosen university if unsure.
Storing unused question papers and answer booklets
Due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and to improve the security of the exam series for all our centres, we have changed the rule for how long unused question papers and answer booklets should be kept in your secure storage.
All unused question papers and answer booklets must be stored securely until at least 72 hours after the Key Time for the exam. After this time you can dispose of the unused question papers or you can give them to candidates/centre staff if you want to.
Cambridge Pre-U results release
Cambridge Pre-U results will be released to centres on 9 August 2021 at 00:01 BST/UTC+1. Centres can release these results to their candidates on 10 August 2021 from 08:00 BST/UTC+1.
Private candidates
Private candidates can use the new directory to find Cambridge International Schools and British Council offices that are accepting entries for the June 2021 series in their region. The page also includes contact information for each centre.
We recently sent an email to schools accepting private candidates on the school-assessed grade route to support them in judging private candidates. Private candidates on the school-assessed grade route should contact their centre with any questions, as the centre will be able to advise how to meet their own requirements for school-assessed grades.
Withdrawals
You can withdraw entries until seven days after the exam series by contacting us directly at info@cambridgeinternational.org. You will receive a credit for these withdrawn entries.
Setting and aligning standards
Students taking Cambridge International exams will not be systematically advantaged or disadvantaged compared to students whose grades are determined using school assessment. See more information in this document.
