We offer a range of different training and professional development opportunities for teachers and school leaders according to their experience and needs.
Our Introductory Training gives teachers an introduction to a specific Cambridge programme or qualification.
The learning focus is on the structure of the curriculum and includes overall aims, key concepts, assessment objectives and teaching ideas. Our Introductory Training is available online or face-to-face.
Our Extension Training develops a deeper understanding of a specific Cambridge programme or qualification.
It is designed to help teachers engage with our syllabuses and curriculum frameworks in greater depth and build confidence in their delivery. Our Extension Training is available online or face-to-face.
Our online self-study Coursework training programmes provide an opportunity to learn about and practise the skills necessary for setting and marking coursework. They also include interactive activities and guidance.
The British Council and Cambridge Assessment English are experts in English language training. The British Council has been teaching English for more than 75 years and has helped more than 100 million people in 100 different countries improve their English skills and build their confidence.
A range of face-to-face courses, online courses and extensive learning tools are available. Many of these courses prepare learners for Cambridge qualifications.

Our Enrichment Professional Development training is for teachers and school leaders who have been teaching Cambridge programmes and qualifications for at least a year and would like to develop their practice in specific areas.
Learning is focused on skills, understanding, concepts and ideas in teaching and learning, with or without an emphasis on a particular syllabus or curriculum framework.

British Council partner schools receive resource packs for continuing professional development, including a CPD Framework for teachers and tools for conducting peer and formal observations.
The British Council offers teachers the opportunity to participate in monthly webinars related to aspects of modules from the online platform, such as keeping up to date and being a reflective teacher. Teachers are given the opportunity to take part in discussion and share their experiences with other teachers from across the global network.
Our Enrichment workshop ‘Developing your Leadership with Cambridge’ explores the key dimensions of effective school design and what leadership can do to nurture these dimensions in their own context.
The workshop is for those who are new to a school leadership position or who aspire to attain one soon.

The British Council offers Leadership training both face-to-face and online.
Face-to-face Leadership training is mapped to the British Council Continuing Professional Development Framework for school leaders and is available as part of the PSGN Advance Reward.
