This syllabus is designed for students who are learning French as a foreign language. The aim is to develop an ability to use the language effectively for purposes of practical communication. The course is based on the linked language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, and these are built on as learners progress through their studies.
The syllabus also aims to offer insights into the culture and civilisation of countries where French is spoken, thus encouraging positive attitudes towards language learning and towards speakers of foreign languages.
This syllabus is graded from 9 to 1 but is otherwise the same as Cambridge IGCSE French (0520). You will find past papers and other resources for Cambridge IGCSE French (0520); these may be useful for teaching Cambridge IGCSE (9-1) French (7156).
From 2019 this syllabus will be available in Administrative Zone 3 in both June and November. Check the administrative zones for your school.
For further information please contact our Customer Services team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that if you make an entry for the 9-1 grading scale, it is not then possible to switch to the A*-G grading scale once the entries deadline has passed. If you find that you have accidentally made an entry for the 9-1 syllabus, you must withdraw and re-enter before the entries deadline.
The syllabus year refers to the year in which the examination will be taken.
