Cambridge syllabuses for examination in 2014 will be available online from 24 February 2012.You can find them on our secure Teacher Support website and in the Resource Centre of this website.
We will also send a Syllabus and Support Materials CD to all Cambridge schools in March. This CD includes our Syllabus Updates for Cambridge Schools 2012document to help you stay ahead of planned changes to syllabuses. We will publish this document on Teacher Support and in the Teachers area of this website next month.
We continually review our portfolio of qualifications to make sure they keep pace with developments in education. This involves working with schools to develop existing syllabuses and introduce new qualifications.
New qualifications for 2014 include:
Cambridge IGCSE Italian
This is a new Cambridge IGCSE to add to our existing suite of language syllabuses. We are submitting this qualification to Ofqual, the exams regulator in England, so that it can join our other recognised language qualifications for teaching in state schools in England.
Cambridge International A Level English Language
Our new Cambridge International A Level offers learners a distinct International AS Level and a clear progression from Cambridge IGCSE or O Level. It gives learners the opportunity to study the English language and its use in contemporary communication. The syllabus aims to encourage critical response to text in a range of forms, style and contexts, and to promote skills of communication, reading, research and analysis.
Syllabuses for both these new qualifications will be available on Teacher Support from 24 February 2012.
