Teaching and learning
Together with the Egyptian government agency, the Education Development Fund, we have developed and delivered an innovative bilingual education system for Egyptian state school students, delivered through a group of purpose-built schools.
We have designed, developed and delivered curricula and assessments for 4-18 year olds across a range of subjects. We’ve also supported teachers by providing teacher training in the form of face-to-face workshops and online learning, with an emphasis on sensitivity to individual learner needs and continuing formative assessment.
We have also introduced continuous professional development for teachers and schools leaders, linked to Cambridge teacher qualifications and delivered in English and Arabic.
The schools are now well established and oversubscribed. Improvements in teaching and learning have been impressive with 85% of the first Grade 11 cohort gaining a grade C or above in exams equivalent to Cambridge International AS Level.
UK NARIC, the designated United Kingdom national agency for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and skills, has evaluated and benchmarked the new Egyptian qualifications. Here is the executive summary of its 2016 study of selected Level 2 and Level 3 subjects.
Additional benchmarking work is currently underway and the results will be available later in 2017.
