We offer an early bird registration discount of 10% for this course.

The course fee is $458.10 if booked before 4 October 2017. Bookings received after this date will be charged at the full price of $509.00.

Please note, registrations will close 7 days before the first day of training.

**Please note you will be required to download the training materials to a laptop/tablet before the event.  A link to download the materials will be provided 7 days in advance of the course date.  Please ensure you bring this device with you to the training course** 

Who is this workshop for?

Extension Training is recommended for teachers who have attended Introductory Training and/or have been teaching Cambridge programmes and qualifications for at least one year or one exam cycle. If you are new to this syllabus or new to Cambridge we would strongly recommend you attend an Introductory Training instead.

Aims

Teachers will:

  • further an understanding of the subject/curriculum key concepts
  • review syllabus and curriculum framework design and the assessment aims
  • learn about updates and changes to our syllabuses, programmes or curriculum frameworks
  • extend their understanding of question papers, marking exercises, examiner feedback and creating their own exam questions for Cambridge O Level, Cambridge IGCSE or Cambridge International AS & A Level
  • explore Progression Tests and Cambridge Primary Checkpoint and Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint (where applicable)
  • create schemes of work and curriculum resources
  • share a range of approaches to teaching and learning.

Timings and content

  • Day 1: 8:00am - 3:30pm - Looking at the skills requirement
  • Day 2: 8:00am - 3:30pm - Looking at the assessment and mark schemes

Language

This training will be delivered in English so participants are required to have sufficient competence in English to participate in the training.  All candidates should have English language competence comparable to Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). We recomend a minimum requirement of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System.  Further information may be obtained through the Council of Europe website.
