Teaching and learning
This year our conference theme brings together three key areas of practical importance for schools:
A challenge every school faces is fully realising every student’s potential. Each student is an individual, with his/her own comparative strengths and weaknesses, and each brings to the classroom a unique perspective on how the world works and operates. Highly effective schools can be defined as those that recognise this and successfully develop the learning and growth of all of their students, regardless of background, beyond their normal expected rate of growth. They view differences among students as opportunities to enrich and make learning accessible for all.
How this can be best achieved is the conference’s guiding question.
As always, we have distinguished guest speakers who will provide insight into specific areas of the theme. We are also offering you the choice from a wide range of breakout sessions so that you can tailor your programme more closely to your own needs. Our presenters, who are experts in their field, can help us understand what research evidence tells us works, distinguishing fact from fiction.
The greatest value of these conferences, however, is the opportunity for our community to be together, share ideas and perspectives and make contacts. For those of us who work for Cambridge, this is an invaluable opportunity to hear from you about ways we can provide better support. We look forward to meeting and sharing with you how to create the best conditions and opportunities for learning and achievement for all.
