Moderators are responsible for all Centre-assessed components.
The role of the moderator is to work in a team led by a senior moderator to check coursework/assignments (written work, recordings of speaking tests, artwork etc.) already marked by teachers, to ensure that the teachers marking is consistent within each centres and across centres.

Moderators are required to attend standardisation meetings. Therefore most of our moderators are based in the UK.
Individual roles and responsibilities may vary according to the requirements of the qualification. The product manager responsible for a specific syllabus may revise the role specifications. These role descriptions simply give a general overview of the work normally undertaken by examining personnel.
